The college season is underway. Derrick Rose is a GOD! The top is stacked. Blah, blah, blah.
So, it's new and fresh and I'm already tired of the talking heads at ESPN.
I've been listening, reading, and checking in on everything college basketball for the last couple days, and its all the same crap. And that is the fact that we are getting NO LOVE.
Honestly, I think I like it that way.
On ESPN College Gameday Preview, the opening question was which teams are favorite to win it all. The announcers mentioned every time, EVERY, Top 10 team except my Hoosiers.
I'll watch the season, laugh later, and write them a little e-mail when they all claimed they called us at the beginning of the season.
Eric Gordon gets love as potentially the best player in the Big 10 this year. D.J. is just outside the votes for All-American. But we ZERO chance of winning the title.
Ha.
With Mich. St, Ohio St. and Kentucky losing in the early stages....and not only losing, but putting up pathetic amounts of points, I don't understand why we are still off the charts.
We are explosive. We are talented.
You'll see us in March.
I called us now, the heads will call them later.
They didn't call us now. That's for sure.
Hoo Hoo Hoosiers!

Dear Mark,
You are my brother, so I like you. Even if you were not my brother, I would probably still like you. This could all change, though, if you keep using the proverbial "we."
The rules of sports cheering(as established by myself and a friend) mandate that a person cheer for schools in the following order:
1. undergrad school or alma mater
2. any other school you have a degree from
3. your "childhood" school, as long as you are not a bandwagoner
4. the parent clause -- any school you paid money to
5. the school(s) your siblings/spouse went to
No matter the level you find yourself on in the "cheering hierarchy," you are not allowed to use the proverbial "we" or "us" unless you are rostered on the team. This clause remains entact even if you are paying full price at an overpriced school. You are allowed to cheer harder if that is the case, but you can never, and I mean never, refer to an athletic team at your school through the words "We" and "Us." To do so is to sound like you go to Notre Dame.
Now ask yourself, do you want people to think you go to Notre Dame?
With love and wisdom,
Eldest Brother Do-Well
Wow, pretty cocky considering the Hoosiers have yet to play a regular season game. But I feel your pain about all the prognostication.
Through out the entire 04-05 season, despite going undefeated until the last game, the talking heads always found a way to avoid talking about Illinois, or when they did talk about them it was to knock them.
So thats why they play the game.
Oh yeah, the talking heads are the least of your worries considering the cheating Native American of a head coach you have.
well if I remember Herm correctly, you should play the game to win, not so people will talk about you.
if you play to win enough and you win enough, people will talk about you. If you are the Yankees, people will talk about you regardless.
Mark, they are counting the write in ballots today, so be prepared for a phone call about your new job anne
